Lolli Redini

48 Sale Street, Orange

Modern regional food

Named after an Italian family friend from the hilltop village of San Gimignano in Tuscany, Lolli Redini is the kind of place that sets the bar high. Thankfully, with its focus on the marriage between the best regional food and wine, it not only meets these expectations but exceeds them.

In 2001, having worked with some of Sydney’s leading restaurants for 15 years, Simonn Hawke set out to utilise her classic Italian and French training to open Lolli Redini. Her partner in life, Leah Morphett, is responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations as well as the incredible wine list.

Both Simonn and Leah are champions of the Orange food scene, winning multiple awards both individually and together. Once you experience their food and wine, you’ll taste first-hand how they work in gastronomic harmony. It comes as no surprise then that Lolli Redini has retained its Chef Hat rating since opening in 2001.

To start, choose between the signature Twice- Baked Heidi Gruyere Cheese Soufflé with chiffonade of spinach and pear, roasted hazelnuts and parmesan dust, or the Slow- Cooked Hereford Red Beef Brisket with sweet potato, honey glazed rainbow carrots, cavolo nero, caramelised eschallot sauce and pangrattato.

Move on to the Crispy Pressed Crack Willow Farm Free-Range Pork Belly, served with celeriac and potato gratin, apple and clove butter, broccolini and caramelised apple barrel sauce. Pair this with a wine suggested by Leah from the extensive, but well-planned, list.

Showcasing exciting food-friendly wines from all over Australia, Spain, Chile, Italy, France and New Zealand, Lolli Redini has an ever- growing collection of unique and vintage wines sure to impress. The list is in a constant state of evolution and aims to promote smaller, local producers in order to provide you with unique flavours.

When it comes time for dessert, Lolli Redini won’t disappoint. From the divine Pressed Flourless Chocolate Cake with chocolate sorbet, dark chocolate mousse, hazelnut bavarois, chocolate crumble, red wine pears, vanilla cream and salted caramel; to the ever- popular cheese platter, served with toasted walnut loaf and flatbread, sun muscats, quince paste, pears, fresh figs and roasted walnuts, there’s something to please everyone.

Lolli Redini offers a wide range of vegetarian options, and with a clearly labelled menu, Simonn and Leah are proud to cater to different dietary requirements. For this reason, Lolli Redini has become a key destination for food lovers of all kinds wishing to celebrate a special occasion. Simonn’s clever sister Georgie designed the restaurant so that it could offer a fine dining experience without pretension. A long red banquette accompanied by cushioned seating, and the large mural of the Roman Pantheon on the back wall, create a classic, yet contemporary ambience.

At Lolli Redini, Simonn and Leah create dynamic and interesting dishes that highlight the best local produce. Married with excellent wines and attentive service, it’s the perfect regional dining experience.
