Coskun Uysal

Born in Istanbul, Coskun Uysal discovered his love for cooking at a young age under the guidance of his mother, Emine. The daily feast of her delicious Turkish dishes nurtured his passion and instilled in him a deep appreciation for the rich culinary heritage of his homeland.
Driven by his culinary aspirations, Coskun studied Tourism & Hotel Management in Türkiye, expanding his knowledge and experience in the industry. However, it was in London where his culinary prowess truly flourished. Working in renowned establishments like Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen and Michelin-starred Putney Bridge, he mastered the art of flavour fusion, creativity, and impeccable presentation.

Inspired by his achievements, Coskun returned to Istanbul and opened a fine dining restaurant that quickly gained acclaim and recognition both locally and internationally. With a burning desire to share the true essence of Turkish cuisine, he set his sights on Melbourne. In 2013, Tulum was born, a culinary destination combining traditional Turkish flavours with modern techniques.
Drawing inspiration from the classic dishes of his youth and the regions of Turkey, Coskun rewrites the rulebook on modern Anatolian cuisine in Australia. Coskun’s ability to channel nostalgic memories and weave the story of his past into Tulum’s contemporary menu has earned the praise of his diners, critics and peers nationwide.

Tulum stands as a testament to Coskun’s passion and dedication to culinary excellence. With its prestigious Chefs Hat, Best Casual Restaurant awards and a loyal following, Tulum continues to redefine Turkish dining in Australia. Join Coskun on a captivating journey showcasing Turkish cuisines' vibrant flavours and heartfelt hospitality.
